Associated Imaging Services (AIS) welcomed a new field service engineer, Simon Martinez, to their committed and experienced team. Martinez, who resides just south of Houston, Texas, has over 17 years of ultrasound service experience. Grant Norris, vice president of sales and marketing, provided insight into AIS’s decision to hire Martinez.

“For over a year now AIS has worked directly with Simon on several occasions,” said Norris. “We’ve contracted through him to take care of our customers in South Texas whenever a need arises. As business continues to pick up in that region, due to our wonderful South Texas sales rep Tiffani Noble, it became apparent that we needed to have our own, full time engineer on our team.”

Norris explained why Martinez was, without hesitation, their first choice, for several reasons.

“Simon knows the area really well,” Norris continued. “He has always been great at communication, whether that be responding quickly, turning in detailed service reports or helping us get our customers taken care of in a timely manner.”

Norris says AIS’s decision to hire Martinez goes beyond just his quality of work.

“I’ve gotten to know Simon over the last year, and I consider him a good friend. On a recent trip to Houston, I went to dinner with Tiffani, Simon and his wife Rebecca. It was an enjoyable evening, and I just kept thinking how great it would be to have Simon on our team; he seemed like the perfect fit. So, when the time came around to get serious about adding a team member, it was a very easy decision for Simon to be our #1 choice. I couldn’t be happier or more excited that Simon made the decision to join us.”

Martinez has experience on most all makes and models of ultrasound equipment, so he will likely be working on several different systems for AIS.

Since 2004, Martinez says he has never thought of himself as a field service engineer.

“I strive to be a customer engineer,” noted Martinez. “Repairing equipment is only part of my job scope. Instilling confidence and listening to each customer, as well as helping them to understand what they can do day-to-day to extend the life of their equipment, is just as important. Joining the AIS team is a perfect alignment with those beliefs and will allow me to help more facilities bring a higher quality of care to their patients.”

With the addition of Simon Martinez, there is no doubt that he will complete the AIS team in South Texas, joining sales rep Tiffani Noble and veteran nuclear medicine engineer Mike “Mac” McClintock.

“Now that Simon is joining our team, I feel we have the best team in place to provide our customers with the services that they deserve,” Norris concluded. “At the end of the day, our goal is to provide fast, reliable, affordable and personable service to all of our wonderful customers.”

AIS is excited to announce the addition of Simon Martinez, whose favorite quote is fittingly “Good business is when everyone involved wins.” Welcome to the team, Simon!
