AIS Adds Ultrasound Service Engineer

By John Wallace

Associated Imaging Services Inc. (AIS) recently added new ultrasound service engineer Rhiannon Thurmond.

AIS Vice President of Sales and Marketing Grant Norris described how the addition of Thurmond falls in line with the company’s mission.

“From the very first time I saw Rhiannon’s content on social media I was impressed and knew she would be the ultimate team member. After getting to know her better recently, those thoughts were more than confirmed,” Norris said. “Her work ethic, professionalism, attitude, confidence and communication are all remarkable. We are thrilled to have her on our team to help us grow our Texas market.”

Thurmond is an experienced healthcare technology management professional. She has been in the biomed field for over 16 years. She is a Texas State Technical College alumni who completed her degree in 2006 and then worked for 10 years as an in-house biomed. For the past 6 years she worked as a field service engineer for a multivendor independent service organization (ISO) specializing in biomed, diagnostic imaging and anesthesia in the Houston, Texas area.

“I came into this industry at 19 years old, I wanted to find a career that I could both grow with and feel fulfilled with every day. I love serving others, solving problems and have always had a knack for proactively staying ahead of the curve knowing this industry is ever changing so we must be able to adapt to change,” Thurmond shared. “By serving others and asking the right questions you tend to learn to follow your feet in the right direction.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to have reconnected with Grant Norris with AIS over LinkedIn. The power of a strong social network can open many doors (like it did in my case). I decided to fly up and meet the AIS team – every single employee I met at AIS won me over and I decided that this was the place I wanted to work – with these kinds of people! I am so excited about the idea of working in women’s centers, and diagnostic imaging facilities, – I am thrilled to discover a new niche/tool for my tool bag. Associated Imaging Services feels like family, and I love how they value both their employees as well as their clients.”

When not in the field working, Thurmond said she can likely be found outside in the garden or sitting on her porch playing guitar; singing just loud enough to “annoy my neighbors.”

“I purchased a little Taylor GS Mini last year and have been teaching myself to play to pass the time,” she said. “I love networking on LinkedIn, listening to Learning Podcast on my commutes, and I enjoy street skating (it fills the void I miss from my Roller Derby years – recovering from a full contact sport in my mid 30s isn’t the same as it was in my 20s). I also enjoy cooking, camping/glamping and spontaneous road trips to find hidden gems in the Lone Star State with my wonderful family. I have a green cheek parrot, a cat, a dog and 5 city hens.”
