AIS Helps Houston Premier Radiology Upgrade with Siemens Symbia EVO Excel Relocation
Associated Imaging Services (AIS) recently completed a major upgrade project for Houston Premier Radiology (HPR), transporting and installing a Siemens Symbia EVO Excel gamma camera as part of their expansion efforts. The project required AIS to deinstall the system in Atlanta, Georgia, move it halfway across the country, and complete the full installation in Houston, Texas.
About Houston Premier Radiology and CIS
Houston Premier Radiology’s mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care on both an as-needed and preventative basis. The center offers comprehensive diagnostic testing in a comfortable setting while delivering timely, high-quality results to referring physicians.
HPR is part of Capitol Imaging Services (CIS), which operates more than 50 diagnostic imaging centers across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, with additional centers planned. CIS has developed a strong corporate structure supported by advanced internal systems that link all sites together through modern technology.
From Old to New: Seamless Transition
HPR had been using an older ADAC Vertex system and was eager to upgrade to more advanced technology. AIS managed the entire process—from deinstallation to transport, installation, and training—ensuring a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
“Our team deinstalled the Symbia EVO Excel in Atlanta, transported it to Houston, and completed the installation at HPR,” explained AIS CEO Grant Norris. “Once it was in place, we provided applications training so their staff could begin scheduling patients right away. This was a large project, but everything came together well, and we’re thrilled that HPR is pleased with both the results and their new room setup.”
Customer Feedback: Communication and Timeliness
Facility Administrator David W. McGhee praised AIS for its professionalism and proactive approach:
“The entire team at AIS—including Grant, Mike, Tiffani, Tom, Tristan, and others—provided excellent communication throughout the relocation. They kept us informed about every step of the process, from the move and installation through applications. This consistent communication made it much easier to coordinate our construction plans before and during the project.”
McGhee also highlighted the efficiency of AIS’s work:
“From start to finish, AIS was outstanding in both communication and timeliness. The brief installation period allowed us to resume patient care quickly, which had a positive impact on our bottom line.”
A Lasting Impression
When asked what advice he would give to other imaging facilities considering AIS for service or system upgrades, McGhee didn’t hesitate:
“100%—go for it! The positive experience will always stand out to not only Houston Premier Radiology, but also Capitol Imaging Services.”
