Employee Profile: Scott Bell

Associated Imaging Services Inc. (AIS) employees some talented individuals, including Ultrasound Service Engineer Scott Bell from Collinsville-Skiatook, Oklahoma. He can currently be found roaming through Kansas servicing equipment for health care facilities.

“I repair and perform maintenance on ultrasound machines and cardio treadmills mainly. I will lend a hand on relocating and installing nuclear cameras when necessary,” he said.

Scott enjoys his work and continues to gain experience daily as he enters his eighth year at AIS.

“It’s not what you do for work it’s the people you work with. I love electronics and troubleshooting, but I wouldn’t be able to do it without a good team. I have the coolest, calmest boss who can defuse almost any of my jobs that get out of hand,” Scott said when asked what he enjoys about his work.

He adds that there are many reasons why working at AIS is so rewarding.

“We have a great leader/founder who makes me a better person. He has set a standard and a set of expectations with an impressive work ethic that’s a great model for all of us,” Scott explained.

He also enjoys the spontaneity that comes with the wrok.

“It’s also very unpredictable and independent. You never know when something might break down. It can go from structured and organized to a chaotic complete change of schedule,” Scott said.

Away from work, Scott is a competitive person who values time with his family. He and his wife, Lindsey Bell of Andale Kansas, have been together for 16 years. They have been married for 14 years. Their three children are Jackson, 14, Easton, 11, and Savannah, 4.

He said he enjoys boxing in the mornings before work. He joined a multi-style fight team about a year ago.

“I’ve been a masters boxer (35 and over) for about the past 4 years. My middle son trains with me also,” Scott said.

He said he is also a competitive golfer along with his oldest son.

“My oldest son has finished in the top 10 in the state and top 3 in Wichita for multiple years,” Scott said. “Time on the golf course with him is one of the most enjoyable things I do as a parent.”

When not working on ultrasound machines, Scott can often be found working his guitar as the lead guitarist for Prairie Smoke, a local/regional country music act.

“My middle son is also a bass player. I enjoy making music videos and guest appearances with him,” Scott said.

He is also hooked on spending time with his youngest child while swimming.

“I’ve been an active member of Kansas Bassmasters for 6 years. We organize a statewide tournament trail and compete once a month,” he said.

He said that his four-year-old daughter will go on the boat with me occasionally while I practice and “loves to aggravate the fish in the live well.”

Scott and his family have also adopted a black cat named “Ruby” that they love very much.
