We are joined by Marketing and Applications Specialist April Starr from Associated Imaging Services (AIS) for this week’s feature article. We are looking at the Mindray MX7 Ultrasound System. It has virtual beamforming architecture, ZONE Sonography Technology+. The MX7 Ultrasound System is also a laptop-based system powered by ZST+, providing mobility and reliability in a compact design.

We found out more about the Mindray MX7 Ultrasound System during a Q&A session.

Q: Can you tell me about the ZONE Sonography Technology+?

APRIL: Zone technology (ZST) is a game changer in my opinion! The focusing power throughout the image, from skin line to the far field, makes optimizing such a breeze. With ZST onboard the image quality is significantly better than other products in a similar price range.

Q: Is there a standard feature that sets it apart from its counterparts in a similar price range?

APRIL: The MX7 comes standard with iWorks, our fully customizable scanning protocols. Once set up it can reduce keystrokes by up to 80%, improving workflow and taking some of the common strains off the sonographer using it.

Q: Some portable systems can actually be heavy and burdensome. Can you share more about the size, weight and portability of the MX7?

APRIL: The MX7 is one of the lightest in its class, weighing under 8 pounds. The magnesium alloy design is very durable, and the gesture sensitive touchscreen makes it easily customizable.

Q: Is there anything else you want to share about the Mindray MX7 Ultrasound System?

APRIL: I have been very impressed with the performance of the MX7, in all imaging modalities. I have been able to do side-by-side comparisons and it has outshined both systems in its price range, and some of the more expensive portable systems as well.
