In 2007, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) debuted its performance optimization framework for health care organizations, the Triple Aim. It is anchored in the acknowledgment that health care simultaneously faces spiraling costs, novel challenges, and questions of accessibility to broad segments of America. IHI proposed a framework encapsulating these concerns within a trio of responses, or aims: enhancing patient experience, improving population health and reducing costs.

The 2023 Imaging Conference & Expo sold out early. The packed exhibit hall was just the beginning of the successful event hosted by MD Publishing. MD Publishing Vice President Kristin Leavoy, CMP, reported close to 450 people in attendance at the imaging conference with 80 exhibits.

A fetal echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. There are certain conditions that we consider may present a higher risk for heart abnormalities in the developing fetus. These risk factors for an expecting mother include a family history of heart defects, structural heart defects, heart rhythm abnormalities, gestational diabetes, and if the mother is pregnant with more than one fetus. These are the situations in which we would perform a fetal echo to ensure that the fetus has a heart that is developing normally.

Northwood Deaconess Health Center currently includes a hospital, clinic, nursing home, assisted living facility and an ambulance service. Brock Sherva, Northwood Deaconess Health Center’s CEO, said the low-interest rate loan will help the health center complete a multi-phase project with one round of financing.
